Stan Collymore. The Aston Villa icon is many things, but a good sport he is certainly not.

The talkSPORT pundit has had an interesting weekend, first going public with his and Joleon Lescott's seemingly never-ending text feud and then staking a claim for a job as 'Player Liason Officer' with the relegated Birmingham outfit via an online blog. Clearly, his CV and cover letter didn't get a response from Randy Lerner.

Being the rather devilish bunch we are at Football FanCast, we felt compelled to get involved.

Perhaps our meme overstepped the mark, perhaps we're no worse than the thousands of Twitter accounts out there doing exactly the same thing. Either way, the response we got was rather unexpected. He started off with a simple and effective reply...

But then continued by sending us the Linkedin account of every Player Liason Officer known to man...

He then took the shocking step of deleting all the aforementioned tweets, possibly because he ran out of Player Liason Officers to aggressively tweet to us.

One lad had a pretty good theory...

That Collymore seemed to agree with...

Then err... this happened...

We're still not too sure why.

At this point, the argument about Player Liason Officer is almost irrelevant. If Aston Villa were to hire one, would they really want it to be Collymore - a man who lost his cool at a meme posted by a website he's never heard of?
