The Wolfsburg star is set to be out of contract at the end of the season, which is believed to have alerted Arsenal and Southampton.

The 28-year-old has long been hailed as one of European football’s top creative talents for some time, but has struggled to consistently display the level of ability he has.

Spells with Juventus and Atletico Madrid have proven to be fruitless, which has now led to rumours that his current employers may cut him loose at the end of the season.

But, Diego says that Premier League sides are watching him, with Arsenal particularly keen.

“I know there is interest from Premier League clubs. I have heard one of them is Arsenal,” he said.

Diego has been capped 33 times by Brazil, and is believed to be on the radars of Arsenal and Southampton.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is said to be looking into adding to his squad either in January or next summer, while the Saints may look to build on an impressive start to the season with capture of a star name.

Could Diego be a wise addition for either Arsenal or Southampton?
