Manchester United and Chelsea are both keen on signing Galatasary midfielder and Dutch star Wesley Sneijder, according to the Daily Star.
Sources at the Turkish club went as far to claim that Manchester United had an ‘indirect offer’ for the playmaker rejected in the summer.
Galatasaray Sportive Coordinator Bülent Tulun confirmed there had been an approach of sorts, saying: “Sneijder received an indirect offer from Manchester United last summer but it was not accepted.”
Meanwhile Galatasary president Unal Aysal has confirmed Chelsea have also expressed an interest.
Aysal said: “If Chelsea were to offer a deal worth over €15 million (£12.5m) I would give Sneijder permission to leave if that’s what he wanted.”
Sneijder himself also revealed there was an offer to move to the Premier League on the table in January.
The dutch midfielder said: “There were clubs who wanted to sign me like Manchester United but I have no intention of leaving and my club have no intention of letting me go.
“Leaving in January didn’t even cross my mind and the club have never told me to leave.
“I feel at home here and that’s not something you feel everywhere you go.”
