Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has opened the door for a January move to the Premier League by revealing his current frustrations.
Despite being a first-team regular last term, Khedira has endured a tough start to the new campaign, with new chief Carlo Ancelotti thought to be unconvinced by his abilities.
He has also been the subject of criticism from sections of the club’s supports, who have grown irritated by Real’s underwhelming start to the season.
Khedira revealed his frustration at his current situation, opening the door for a move away from the club once the transfer window re-opens.
“I’m not a Spanish player, I did not cost much money and I’m one of Mourinho’s disciples,” he told the Daily Star.
“I started the season on the bench or in the stands. Although if I play well, I am the scapegoat and will therefore not be properly assessed.”
Mourinho is known to be a fan of Khedira, which has led to rumours of a move for his signature in January.
Meanwhile United are also in the fight, with a midfielder believed to be high on their list of transfer priorities.
