Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is chasing Hamburg midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, who is valued at £7.5m, Daily Mail reports.

Labelled as the ‘next Mesut Ozil’, Mourinho has targeted the Turkish international as a very interesting prospect for the Blues.

Also tracked by the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, Calhanoglu caught the football world’s attention when the 20-year-old scored a stunning 45-yard free-kick against Borussia Dortmund earlier this year.

He has been the one bright spark for a poor Hamburg side, scoring 10 goals in the league this season.

And it seems Chelsea have taken an early lead in attempting to sign the youngster with preliminary discussions.

However, Hamburg are looking to hold out and want the Blues to pay £12m in order to land their man.

Calhanoglu has informed his agents he would like to leave Hamburg this summer, with England a very possible destination for the attacking midfielder.
