Diego Costa has hinted that he may complete a big money move to Chelsea from Atletico Madrid this summer.
The Brazilian-born Spain international is believed to be the Blues’ top target for the coming transfer window, with Jose Mourinho having made no secret of his desire to land a top class goalscorer.
Costa has already netted a staggering 27 times in 33 La Liga appearances – his overall tally sits at 35 in all competitions – and looks to be on course to fire his side to an unlikely title triumph.
Yet he is said to be available for around £35m, which has tempted Chelsea.
Speaking in the aftermath helping his side dispatch the Londoners to reach the Champions League final with an effort from the penalty spot, the 25-year-old suggested that he could well be plying his trade at Stamford Bridge for the 2014/15 campaign:
“Chelsea in my future? We’ll see, I know there are offers for me,” he is quoted by The Express.
“I feel well here at Atletico. Let’s see.”
Costa also claimed that his side deserved to beat Chelsea and book an all-Madrid final against bitter rivals Real:
“We deserve to be in the final,
“The team kept their heads despite the [Fernando] Torres goal, we were very strong throughout the game.”
