manager Andre Villas-Boas has said that he’s well on his way to achieving his goals at White Hart Lane whilst emphasising the lack of long-term planning at Chelsea, reports Sky Sports.

Villas-Boas feels that the guiding principal at Chelsea is results alone, not a long-term plan that he was initially led to believe when he signed on at Stamford Bridge.

The Spurs manager was fired after nine months in charge, making a mockery of his three-year deal and leaving him critical of the word of Russian owner Roman Abramovich.

AVB believes that Chelsea took the easy route by sacking him, and feels that Chelsea’s emphasis on the short-term isn’t conducive to success.

"There are no plans at Chelsea, it's results that rule," said AVB.

"There are times in football when it's easier to replace the coach.

"But when you embrace a project you believe in people. There was a commitment from Abramovich and his word was given.

"Yet there was a premature departure."

AVB feels that there is a greater sense of vision at White Hart Lane and the stability at the club has been helpful in achieving the goals set out by Daniel Levy at the beginning of the season.

"We're achieving what we've been asked to achieve.

"We're still in the Europa League and third in the Premier League."
