Belgium manager Marc Wilmots believes that Eden Hazard should leave Chelsea this summer to join Paris Saint-Germain.
The skilful attacking midfielder has been, arguably, the Blues’ top performer this term, with Jose Mourinho having transformed him from an inconsistent yet talented winger into a genuine candidate to be one of the world’s best players.
His form has alerted mega rich French side PSG, who are reportedly plotting a stunning £50m offer for his signature once the season ends.
Hazard himself has refused to rule out the possibility of returning to Ligue 1 – where he starred with Lille – even though Chelsea are known to be desperate to keep him.
Wilmots – who has made the 23-year-old a key member of his much fancied Belgian side ahead of the World Cup – wants him to turn his back on Stamford Bridge and move to Paris to become a better player:
“It’s an opportunity to be taken into serious consideration if he wants to be part of the category of players who make the difference,” he is quoted by The Metro.
“It’s time to raise his level. Hazard and Ibrahimovic are two different players – but highly complementary.”
PSG are also understood to be interested in Chelsea’s Oscar.
