Rafael Benitez has conceded that overhauling the Red Devils is unlikely to happen, but Cahill believes that they can make a significant push during their final 15 games of the season:
“We are looking up, not down, and want to try and chase first and second spots. Yes we are looking at the Manchester clubs,” he is quoted by Sky Sports.
The England international confessed to being frustrated by the team’s inconsistency across the campaign, but he feels that they have the ability to put a strong run of results together:

“But we are more than capable of putting a run together and winning nine out of 10 games. That’s what we need to aim for and see where it takes us.”
Although winning the league is still a target, Cahill went on to suggest that qualification for the Champions League and potential victory in both the FA Cup and Capital One Cup are equally as important:
“We have got to make sure we are in one of the spots for the Champions League. We also have the cup competitions and we want to go as far as we possibly can in them.”
