For so long Jose Mourinho had been the idol of many up and coming young managers.
The style, the charisma, the success – the Special One seemed to have it all.
But nobody seems as interested in him since his second coming, perhaps because the results haven’t been so good and the football has been as dull as during his first spell.
Mourinho even resorted to dropping Juan Mata to try and catch our attention but still, nobody really cared. Now he’s been restored to the first team, with Mourinho reckoning his two week spell in the wilderness has taught him how to track back and work for the team. What an inspiring tale.
Now it seems Mourinho is trying to return to the back pages by modelling his new look. The classic ‘cone on the head’ look, which apparently is big in Southeast Asia.
We shall wait and see if fellow managers follow suit, which will give us an indication as to whether the Chelsea boss still has it.
But if we don’t see Brendan Rodgers, Steve Clarke and Andre Villas-Boas trying this out in the next couple of weeks, you may as well pack your bags and go home Jose. Nobody cares anymore.
