Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says that he will reignite his plans to land a top class centre-forward at the end of the season.
The Blues chief was heavily linked with Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao throughout January, but eventually opted against adding to his attacking line.
Despite the Londoners being firmly in the race for the Premier League title, ‘The Special One’ has been far from convinced by any of his strikers.
Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o are seen as the club’s top duo, while Demba Ba has been a peripheral figure in recent times.
None of the three have found the back of the net on a regular basis this term, which has led to talk of a big name signing.
Mourinho failed to secure an arrival last month, but says that doing so in the summer is a priority:
“We’re waiting for the summer to do the right thing in that area, to do exactly what the team needs.” He is quoted by The Metro.
Costa of Atletico Madrid is believed to be the top target, with the Brazilian born hit-man said to have a £32m release clause in his contract.
