Chelsea are edging closer to securing a £51million move for Atletico Madrid trio Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Tiago, according to the Express.

The Blues have been linked with a £32m deal for Costa since January and deal was reportedly ready to be confirmed before the start of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

But it looks like Jose Mourinho will be ready to announce a further two signings at the same time, with Luis and Tiago close to agreeing to join the west London side as well.

But the £50m sale of David Luiz to PSG means if the Stamford Bridge outfit can pull off a deal for all three players, they will avoid any wrongdoing by UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

Luis reportedly has a £19m buyout clause in his contract and Chelsea are prepared to double his current £80,000-a-week wages to bring him in as Ashley Cole’s permanent successor.
