Chelsea are keen to tie up a summer exchange deal involving Oscar and Real Madrid’s Luka Modric, according to FIFA agent Francis Gallardo.
The Croatian midfielder has been a player long linked with the Blues, with the club having chased him during his time at London rivals Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho coached the silky passer while at Real and is known to be a big fan of the playmaker, who has enjoyed a good spell in Spain after struggling to adapt initially.
Meanwhile Oscar has also been in fine form, developing into a key member of Chelsea’s first-team – which facilitated the sale of Juan Mata to Manchester United.
Real have themselves been linked with the young Brazilian, and Gallardo believes that a swap deal could happen:
“This could be a possibility,” he is quoted by The Express.
“Mourinho is a fan of the strong Real Madrid star. He knows Modric will be expensive and would be happy to exchange a pretty good player Chelsea.
“The player Mourinho wants at Chelsea is Modric and he is willing to include Oscar plus cash in the transaction.”
Modric has long been considered to be one of European football’s top central midfielders, and he could be tempted by a return to England where he enjoyed a great deal of success with Spurs.
