Chelsea duo John Terry and Ashley Cole are back in club training after overcoming recent injuries, according to Sky Sports.
The pair trained with the rest of the Blues’ group on Wednesday and are now in the running to be included in Roberto Di Matteo’s matchday squad for the game against London rivals QPR on Saturday.
Cole missed both of England’s World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine recently due to an ankle injury, but is thought to be close to fitness once more.
Terry picked up an ankle knock in the game against Moldova and subsequently missed the 1-1 draw with Ukraine on Tuesday.
With the FA set to start their internal investigations into Terry’s reported use of racist and inflammatory language against QPR man Anton Ferdinand in the corresponding fixture last season, the centre-half’s inclusion would cause controversy.
Ferdinand himself has been suffering from injury, but it is thought that the Loftus Road man may well recover in time to be considered for a place in Mark Hughes’ line-up.
