Chelsea are pondering a £20m move for Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The Blues have already made two swoops for stars from the Rojiblancos, with Filipe Luis having agreed yesterday to follow Diego Costa to west London.
And now it has emerged that the availability of Brazilian centre-back Miranda has been discussed.
Reports suggest that the Blues are very keen on the enforcer, and that they will contact Atleti once again to further discuss a deal to take the classy enforcer to Stamford Bridge.
The South American has agitated for a move away from Madrid this summer, with speculation having linked him with Barcelona and Manchester United.
Miranda is currently training with his club ahead of the new season, but it’s understood that he would be open to joining Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho’s side may also move to bring back former midfielder Tiago from Atleti on loan, while Thibaut Courtois is set to come back from the club to battle Petr Cech for a starting berth after three seasons on loan at the Vicente Calderon.
