Sevilla’s Moreno could be his preferred option, with the Spaniard another one of Europe’s top emerging left-backs.
Sandro of Porto is also seen as an option, with the 23-year-old Brazilian having been a key member of his side’s successful first-team since his 2011 move from home country club Santos.
Chelsea are aware that Financial Fair Play could have an impact on them, and are believed to be looking to cut back on other targets to secure a big money move for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.
