As reported by The Daily Mirror, Antonio Conte is eyeing a shock move for West Ham's in-form star Michail Antonio.

What's the word?

Chelsea already look to have a squad that's capable of winning the Premier League title but Antonio Conte is still looking to strengthen his squad this month.

The Mirror reckon one man on his list is Michail Antonio of West Ham, currently enjoying an excellent season at the London Stadium.

The former Nottingham Forest man recently signed a new contract with the Hammers, pledging his future to the club until 2020, but you'd imagine Chelsea have the resources to at least tempt Bilic to sell one of his top performers this season.

Why Antonio?

Michail Antonio has been one of the Hammers most consistent performers this season, currently leading their scoring charts with 8 goals in 27 appearances.

That's quite remarkable given he's played a hybrid attack/defence role on the right hand side of the Irons' midfield.

It's the kind of role that would fit Chelsea perfectly. They're utilising a fluid 3-4-3 system this season with Victor Moses playing a very similar role at the Blues as Antonio at West Ham.

He'd provide excellent competition and back-up for Moses and a move to a team with a significantly better squad could bring his game to a new level.
