German winger Andre Schurrle believes that Eden Hazard will line up alongside him at Chelsea next season, despite links with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Blues’ Player of the Year has been a long-term target for the Ligue 1 champions, who are reportedly lining up a £50m offer to lure him across the Channel to the French capital.
Talk has been further fuelled by a falling out between Hazard and Jose Mourinho, with the player having insulted his coach’s tactics before being hit with questions surrounding his work-rate and ability to track back.
PSG boss Laurent Blanc has publically talked up his club’s admiration of the 23-year-old, suggesting he is the sort of star the Parisians want as they aim to establish themselves as a world footballing superpower.
But Schurrle believes that Hazard will still be in the blue of Chelsea at the end of the summer:
“The manager and the club know that Eden Hazard is a very talented and good player. I think we should not overestimate these things,” he is quoted by Goal.
“Of course statements were published, but I believe Eden is very happy to be with Chelsea and Mourinho is happy to have him. Next season everything will be all right again.”
