Tomas Kalas says that he is thrilled to have made his Chelsea league debut over the weekend, and that he is looking to get more game time in the future.
The 20-year-old was thrust into the Blues’ starting XI for the top of the table clash away to Liverpool by Jose Mourinho, who rotated his options with the tricky Champions League semi-final return tie against Atletico Madrid in his mind.
Despite the Reds being the Premier League’s top scorer and possessing the player of the season in Luis Suarez, Kalas helped his side to a 2-0 victory to keep them in the hunt for the title.
The Czech Republic youngster says that he enjoyed his first taste of big match action with Chelsea and that he is ready to push on and win more game time at the club:
“I am not that experienced so this is my biggest experience of my life and hopefully it will be like that all the time as my last big game was in Vitesse almost one year ago.” He is quoted by the Daily Star.
Kalas also revealed that he had little idea that he would feature in the Merseyside clash:
“I didn’t know I was going to play so it was a nice surprise,
“I couldn’t celebrate in the meeting but I was happy inside.”
