Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas has ruled out a move away from the La Liga outfit this month according to talkSPORT.
Chelsea were reportedly keen on bringing the 25 year old to Stamford Bridge this month but despite hearing of the interest, Aspas is determined to stay with Celta.
The Spaniard has notched eight times already this season to add to his 25 goals that helped Celta earn promotion from the Spanish Segunda last season.
Chelsea’s hierarchy are becoming more and more disillusioned with out of form striker Fernando Torres and the impressive form of new boy Demba Ba may have sealed Torres’ fate as back up striker.
The long term target is Atletico Madrid forward Falcao but with a permanent manager for next season yet to be confirmed, Aspas was a short term choice to push the Blues back into the title race.
However, Aspas has ruled out any possible switch away from his current club.
“I said 15 days ago that I would not leave and my mind has not changed,” he said.
“I want the best for this season, both for the club and for me. I am very happy here.”
