Chelsea will use some of the £37m they are set to receive from Manchester United for Juan Mata to fund a move for Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann, according to reports from The Sun.

The Blues are set to let their Spanish playmaker join the Red Devils in a mega money deal in the coming days following his drop away from the first-team under Jose Mourinho.

With the Blues firmly in the race for the Premier League, ‘The Special One’ is keen to snap up a replacement for Mata, and has set his sights on Griezmann.

Griezmann has been earning rave reviews for his performances in La Liga, where he helped his club side to a shock top four finish last season.

Despite claims that Sociedad will resist January offers for the star man, Chelsea are hopeful that they can use the money generated from the sales of Mata and Kevin De Bruyne to fund a raid for the £24m rated wide-man.

The French winger has also been linked with United, but a move to Old Trafford appears to be unlikely with David Moyes pursuing a range of other targets.

Chelsea have also been linked with a rival bid for Liverpool target Mohamed Salah.
