Chelsea old-boys Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard are set to leave Stamford Bridge and the Premier League following the club’s failure to extend either of the England Internationals’ contracts beyond the current season.

The London-based club have recently installed a new contract policy, restricting players over the age of 30 to one-year deals in fear that ageing players will remain at Chelsea beyond their peak if they are tied down to long-term contracts.

Cole, 31, and Lampard, 34, have rejected offers of a one-year contract extension, meaning the Blues could attempt to cash-in on both players in January instead of losing them for free in the summer.

Ashley Cole has been sought after by Manchester United and Manchester City, but it is now believed the England left-back will move to big spenders PSG following his mother’s hints on Facebook.

Sue Cole posted a tweet at the weekend stating: “Well looks like his going somewhere better hear than the talk of man u. Not too far on the Euro star x.” She also posted a link to a news article claiming her son and his former boss Carlo Ancelotti, now in charge at PSG, had already been in contact.

Meanwhile, Frank Lampard has been linked with a move to China, following interest from Super League team Guizhou Rehne. Former Chelsea team-mates Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka currently play in the Chinese top division for Shanghai Shenhua.

Guizhou have been tracking Lampard’s availability since the summer and club Chairman Wang Guolin recently told SunSport: ““I want the best team in China and we are prepared to invest a lot of money to bring Lampard to us.”

It is believed that Guizhou will offer the England international a £250,000 per-week deal to lure him away from the Premier League.
