Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has hinted that he may stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season.
The Cameroonian veteran recently turned 33 and has been linked with a move away from London in the summer.
Eto’o only arrived at Chelsea on a one-year basis from Anzhi Makhachkala last year, following the Russian side’s decision to axe high-earning players – of which the ex-Barcelona ace was the highest.
It is thought that Chelsea will not look to extend the ageing star’s stay at the club, but the player himself has hinted that he would like to remain a Blues first-teamer by revealing that he is happy:
“I am happy here [at Chelsea]. My age is not important,” he is quoted by the Daily Star.
“I work the same like Oscar or Eden Hazard.
“I have more experience and this is good for the team.
“I think I’m going to score more goals.”
Eto’o has already been linked with a mega money move to the MLS later this year, with a number of American sides said to be willing to make him one of their designated players – a tactic used to lure David Beckham, Thierry Henry and Robbie Keane stateside in the past.
