Chelsea have launched a £7m move for Paris Saint-Germain contract rebel Adrien Rabiot, according to reports from The Metro.

The 19-year-old playmaker is one of European football’s most highly-rated players in his position, and is seen as one of the Ligue 1 champions’ top prospects.

But Rabiot is understood to be unsettled at the Parc des Prices, where his route to being a first-team regular is blocked by a host of established big name stars.

This has resulted in his decision to reject a contract offer from PSG, which has left his future unclear.

Chelsea have been alerted by the situation, with reports suggesting that Jose Mourinho has sanctioned a £7m offer.

The Blues are willing to present him a fresh start and the chance to play more regularly than he has been in Paris.

Although still a teenager, Rabiot is a composed passer of the ball and has also been praised for his shooting ability and technique.

Arsenal are also interested in the player, who is thought to be open to a move away from his homeland.
