Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has insisted that John Terry will not be rushed back into action for this week's Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Blues captain served the final game of his four-match suspension, as the West London outfit drew with Swansea on Saturday.

During his absence the Chelsea defence has leaked ten goals, but Di Matteo remains unsure as to whether he will recall his skipper for their mid-week clash:

“He (Terry) is an important player for us and we will welcome him back, we will have to see how the next three days go and then we will make a decision.” He told The Metro.

If he is left out of the set-up, it’s likely that David Luiz and Gary Cahill will line-up at the heart of the Blues’ defence.

Despite refusing to be drawn into Terry’s situation, the Italian did hint that Victor Moses may be used during the tie, with the winger having been impressive in recent weeks:

“He has been doing very well, every time he has played he has performed well.” Said Di Matteo.

“He is still very young but there is a lot more to come from him.

“He is a big threat, he has tricks and pace and is becoming more effective when he finds space.”
