Chelsea striker Diego Costa has insisted that there is no feud between himself and teammate Pedro, despite the two getting into an on-pitch spat during Wednesday's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

In the first half of the 2-0 loss, Costa got into a war of words with Pedro after an attacking move involving the pair at White Hart Lane came to nothing.

It seemed as though Costa was angry that Pedro did not run into the channel, while the ex-Barcelona man appeared to argue that he was trying to create space for the striker.

The matter took a while to be resolved as the pair continued to go at each other verbally long after the move had broken down.

Despite the obvious disagreements between the two, Costa said in an interview with IBTimes UK that there is no animosity between them.

Actually, it is quite the opposite! The Brazil-born Spain international insisted that he and Pedro "love each other".

"Nothing happened. We have a great understanding with each other. When you have a trusted relationship and intimacy with a team-mate it is normal for these things to happen.

"It was just a moment during the game, and that's it. It was nothing. I told him: 'You have to get in there, why didn't you go?' He said 'I went' and I said he didn't. That's it. Pedro is my brother and we love each other."

The duo were unable to make an impact on the night as Antonio Conte's side failed to recover after letting in two Dele Alli headers.

The result also stopped Chelsea from making Premier League history by becoming the first top-flight team to claim 14 wins on the trot.
