Chelsea are expected to secure the signature of striker Diego Costa next week.
However, the Daily Star are stating that the striker isn’t too keen on a move to Stamford Bridge. The Atletico Madrid forward is reportedly having doubts over his proposed move to London, but is resigned to leaving the Spanish capital.
According to reports in MARCA, Costa’s agent was given permission to agree a deal seeing the striker move to the Blues. In the agreement, the Spaniard included a clause, where he could pay a fee to back out of the move. But with the fee too big for the forward to cough up, Costa has accepted his fate is out of his hands.
Jose Mourinho is ready to bring Thiago and Felipe Luis, Costa’s two close friends at the La Liga champions, to Stamford Bridge as well, in a move which should also see Costa feel more relaxed during the settling in process. Thiago would rejoin the Blues on a free after just 1 spell in London during the 2004-05 season, whilst Luis looks set to move for £20million.
Luis would replace Ashley Cole, who has left the club after failing to agree a new deal, joining Frank Lampard out of the club on free transfers.
