Croatian starlet Mario Pasalic is set to have a medical at Chelsea in May ahead of a summer transfer, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 19-year-old has already signed a pre-contract agreement with the Blues, for a figure of £1.6million.
He is expected to follow in the footsteps of plenty of other Chelsea youngsters, and head out on a season long loan after signing next season.
The young central midfielder has been a star for Hajduk Split in the Croatian league this season, scoring 11 goals in 25 appearances in the Croatian top flight.
And according to the players agent Ivica Loncar, Pasalic is all set for a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, with a loan move next season dependent on Jose Mourinho.
“Mario would like to stay at Hajduk as long as possible, but the contract is signed and we must respect the desire of the club,” Loncar told Croatian newspaper 24sata.
“There is a chance [he will stay at Hajduk], but they are minimal. Mario will be in London at the end of May for a medical examination and then will know more about his future.
“[There are] several interested clubs from Italy, Germany and Spain, and it is possible that the first two weeks of preparation activity will be with Chelsea. But the decision is Jose Mourinho’s.”
