Chelsea winger Kevin De Bruyne has revealed that he will consider leaving the club unless he becomes a first-team regular.

The Belgian was signed during the summer from Genk, but left to join Werder Bremen on loan before making his Premier League debut with the Londoners.

He has been a regular performer in the Bundesliga thus far, gaining valuable experience.

The 21-year-old believes that he will return to Chelsea at the end of the season, but has warned the club that he will not be happy to sit on the bench:

"I am definitely going to spend pre-season with Chelsea.” he is quoted by SkySports.

“After that, we will see what happens,

"I know it will be very tough for me to accept being just a substitute. I know I would become extremely unhappy.

He went on to suggest that he may look for a move if his demands are not met at Stamford Bridge:

"I want to play every match and if that doesn't happen at Chelsea, then perhaps I will have to find a club that are a bit lower in standard."

De Bruyne moved to Chelsea for a fee of £7m during the summer, following a successful spell with Genk in his home nation.

He is likely to face much competition from Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Marko Marin and Victor Moses for a starting spot should he return to the club ahead of next season.
