Demba Ba said he would welcome the challenge of a new striker to compete with next season.
Chelsea are said to be bringing in a new striker in the summer with Torres still not scoring consistently enough for the London Club and Radamel Falcao, Edinson Cavani and Heung-min Son are among those said to be on their wanted list.
Chelsea have been after Falcao for a long time and Abramovich is keen to sign the Atletico Madrid star this summer.
Demba Ba, who has been alternating with Torres upfront this season, isn’t bothered by the prospect of competing with a new striker and instead believes it will help bring out the best in his game.
Speaking to The Express Ba said:
“Each year, they’re going to bring in a striker, that’s part of football.
“It’s what makes you better if you take it the right way. I work, I know what I can achieve.
“If they buy a new forward, it’ll help me improve. I won’t let myself be pushed around.”
The Senegalese striker transferred from Newcastle in the January transfer window for £7million, scoring three goals in ten appearances for Rafa Benitez’s side.
