In a strange twist of fate, Chelsea - as I eluded to a few weeks ago - decided who would next have their name on their Premier League title.

And in an even stranger twist, Eden Hazard scored the goal last season which handed the title to Leicester, very much in a similar fashion to last season where the Belgian’s goal had given Chelsea title glory.

Hazard looked back to his best during the 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Monday, with his fine run and finish rounding off an impressive comeback which ended Tottenham’s feint title hopes.

Despite what will be a satisfying result - having stopped their bitter rivals from stealing their beloved title - the elation will be bitter sweet with it having been an incredibly underwhelming and difficult season for the Blues, who still sit in 9th place in the Premier League table.

While things have certainly been on the up, improvement is a must at the Bridge next season if Abramovich and Co. aim to push back into the realms of the top four.

Whilst incoming Italian Antonio Conte may look to the transfer window this summer with an undoubtedly big budget to spend, there are plenty of resources already at his disposal if the former Juve boss looks close enough.

The Blue’s academy side won their third consecutive FA Youth Cup last week, as well as retaining the UEFA Youth League Trophy following an impressive victory against PSG.

Here are five youngsters who could save Chelsea millions this summer...

Jake Clarke-Salter

Blue’s skipper John Terry hailed Clarke-Salter as the heir to his Chelsea throne recently, stating the 18-year-old ‘reminds him of himself’ following his Premier League debut against Aston Villa last month.

Also highly praised by current and former managers Guus Hiddink and Jose Mourinho, Terry furthermore stated his desire for the youngster to take his place in the heart of Chelsea’s defence come the end of the season.

The Blues are certainly in need of defensive reinforcements. With Kurt Zouma injured, John Terry himself set to move on from the Bridge and Gary Cahill’s future up in the air, Clarke-Salter could find himself playing a huge role next year.

Tammy Abraham

Very much at the forefront of Chelsea’s FA Youth Cup Final victory over Manchester City, Abraham has been with the club since joining the U8s , continually scoring goals at every level.

The Englishman netted 41 times during the 2014/15 season, and has continued his impressive record this year; notably scoring eight goals in nine games in the UEFA Youth League and seven in seven during the FA Youth Cup, including a fine goal in the final.

It is vital the striker is given some first team action sooner rather than later and a chance to show he’s got the ability to step up to the top level.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Already given playing time under current boss Guus Hiddink, the 19-year-old has impressed highly during his short time in the spotlight.

When asked to discuss the possibility of signing Paul Pogba last summer, former manager Jose Mourinho hinted at the young Englishman’s importance to the club’s future, insisting Loftus-Cheek would be a ‘first team player’ next season.

While Chelsea did eventually make an unsuccessful move for Pogba, Loftus-Cheek has certainly moved into the realms of the first team, and his colossal, Ballack-esque performances in the middle of the park have earned him much admiration from fans and pundits alike.

Jay DaSilva

Jay DaSilva

‘Better than any current Premier League left back’, was what former Arsenal striker Ian Wright said about Chelsea’s young defender following the 2015 UEFA Youth League Final victory against Shakhtar Donetsk.

And he may just be right (no pun intended). While DaSilva has yet to make his first team debut, the ex Luton youngster has once again been at the heart of Chelsea’s youth side’s success this season.

Solid at the back, yet equally exciting going forward, the 18-year-old is has composure, pace and strength all in abundance and should be set for big things at the Bridge.

Dominic Solanke

Chelsea staggeringly have in excess of 30 players out on loan this season. While the pile consists of a number of well known Blue’s players including Juan Cuadrado and Victor Moses, it also boasts a number of promising youngsters who are out securing vital first team experience.

Perhaps the pick of the bunch is striker Dominic Solanke, who is currently plying his trade for Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem where he has scored seven times season. Holding an almost unparalleled scoring record at youth level, Solanke can operate as both a striker and attacking midfielder, and has excellent ability with the ball at his feet.

The youngster is one of five Chelsea players on loan to Vitesse, and while he is certainly a top class talent, The Blue’s may have to match his high wage demands if he were to become a star at the Bridge.
