Antonio Conte is known as a ruthless and determined manager, who demands 100% from every single one of his first team players.

This is a model that has allowed him to achieve great success in his thus far relatively short managerial career.

Whilst he has an attraction to utilizing the older statesmen of a squad, as evidenced by the renewal of John Terry’s contract; he also has an affinity to utilsing young players where appropriate.

We saw this with Paul Pogba at Juventus; where he fast tracked a relatively unknown player through developmental and made them into a superstar.

Whilst he is expected to develop the careers of young first teamers like Ruben Loftus Cheek and Bertrand Traore, he will also no doubt be looking towards the Chelsea developmental systems.

Some of these players have been at the club since the age of eight, and would like nothing more than an opportunity at the first team.

Here are FIVE Chelsea youngsters that should be in Conte’s plans next season...

Lewis Baker

Lewis Baker

Lewis Baker joined Chelsea as a nine-year-old in 2005, and has been with the club ever since.

After progressing through the developmental systems, he was made an official member of the first team squad during the 2014-15 season under Jose Mourinho. After failing to make an appearance he was subsequently loaned to Vitesse for the 2015-16 season.

There he became a key member of the first team squad, notching up 31 league appearances over the course of the season.

A two footed natural number 10, Chelsea supposedly rejected the chance of signing Delli Alli as they felt Lewis Baker was more talented; which suggests just how highly the Blues rate the youngster.

The only way to prove that Chelsea made the right call is to put him into the first team next year, and allow him to develop as Alli did last year.

Dominic Solanke

Another player that has been with the Chelsea youth team since the age of nine is Dominic Solanke.

He has been prolific during his spell as a young blue, regularly notching over 40 goals per season, before a successful loan to Vitesse last year.

The need to put Solanke in the first team is a bit more immediate; his contract ends next summer and he reportedly is demanding a bumper £50,000-a-week renewal.

Chelsea obviously wont pay that, but perhaps the opportunity at a first team spot may act as collateral for a reduced wage for the young blue.

Solanke has everything it takes to be a top striker, he just needs the chance.

Nathaniel Chalobah

Nathaniel Chalobah

A player that has seemingly been around forever, Nathaniel Chalobah has been on the edge of the Chelsea first team since 2012.

A hugely successful loan at Watford in the 2012-13 season made him a house hold name at Chelsea, but since then he has largely failed to kick on.

The managerial merry-go-round has certainly effected him, and after numerous unsuccessful loans he looks to have regressed in the last four years.

Still just 21, however, and still a mainstay in the hugely successful England under-21 team; now is the time for the young midfielder to make the move to the first team.

He largely plays as a central defender or defensive midfielder, two positions that Chelsea struggled in last year. He has proven he has the talent, he just needs the opportunity.

Jake Clarke-Salter

Another play that fits a need that Chelsea certainly have for next season is young Jake Clarke-Salter.

He joined Chelsea at 16, and has progressed rapidly in the two following years, eventually making his debut for the first team last season.

A technically gifted central defender, Clarke-Salter would fit in perfectly in a struggling Chelsea defence in desperate need of an injection of pace and determination.

Playing alongside John Terry in what could potentially be his final year would be invaluable to the young defender, and next season could turn out to be make or break for the youngster.

Despite being with the Chelsea first team since 2012, Musonda really burst onto the scene last year after a very impressive outing on loan at Real Betis.

An attacking winger, he draws a number of parallels with Belgium compatriot Eden Hazard for his technical dribbling style and pace.

The attacking midfielder won the man of the match award in his first professional game with the club, and has since come on leaps and bounds; earning quite the reputation for himself whilst in Spain.

Rumours have linked him with a return to the club next season for another year loan, and whilst that would offer him guaranteed first team football, we think he would be best suited to staying in London.

He has already proved he can do it on the highest level, and with a inconsistent attacking trio currently plying their trade at the Bridge.

Why not give him a go in London?
