Chelsea were in absolutely lethal form against Leicester on Saturday evening, dismantling last year's champions for the third time this season in all competitions.

A double from Marcos Alonso and a Pedro goal sealed the win for the visitors on a night that Conte's side showed there could be life after Diego Costa, with the striker's future at Stamford Bridge in doubt.

They are now seven points ahead of second place heading into Sunday's fixtures and with Liverpool's chances of a victory at Old Trafford far from certain, could end the weekend leading the rest by that margin.

Leicester were powerless to resist the 90 minute battering and looked far from the old Leicester from last season. The Foxes are just five points above the relegation zone and really need to go on an extended unbeaten run to put distance between themselves and danger.

It was an engrossing watch from start to finish but the clinical nature of Chelsea's performance made it a not very competitive affair.

Here are FIVE photos that summed up all the action...

Marcos Alonso got the Chelsea show on the road early with a beautiful finish past Schmeichel in just the 6th minute of the game.

If Chelsea fans were fearful of what might happen vs. Leicester due to the Costa situation, those fears were immediatley eased.

Alonso's goal gave the Blues the platform to build into the rest of the game and from this point on they never looked like conceding, never mind losing.

Double delight

Alonso went on to repeat his feats of the first half, scoring 6 minutes after the second half kick-off. It gave Chelsea a vital cushion and confirmed there would be no scares of slip-ups against last season's champions.

By this point Chelsea had already squeezed most of the life out of Leicester and the only thing awaiting Ranieri's side was a lethal bite.

Pedro power

That bite came from Pedro, who rounded off a fine night for Chelsea with their third of the game and his seventh of the season.

It was the cherry on top of the performance for the travelling Blues support and as you can see, Pedro was clearly delighted with his contribution. It was Willian who set the goal up, instinctively latching on to a ball in behind the defence and chipping the ball, rather fortunately off of Schmeichel so Pedro could nod home.

Lost Leicester

The differences between this season and last could not be more stark for Claudio Ranieri's Leicester side and at time they looked a little lost in the proceedings.

The team spirit and determination from the title winning campaign was absent and they had no cutting edge with the likes of Slimani and Mahrez in Africa on international duty.

They won't judge themselves too harshly given they were facing this season's greatest side but improvement is definitely needed or fans will start getting worried around the King Power stadium.

Conte's cheer

Antonio Conte has much to be pleased about after a difficult week as Chelsea boss, perhaps his most testing yet.

On the back of a defeat at Spurs and his biggest star unsettled, he had to find a way to guide Chelsea through the mini-crisis.

His side are now unified again and can move forward with or without Diego Costa and fight for honours on two fronts in the coming months.
