In what has been one of the loosely-guarded secrets of the Premier League season, it was announced this week that Chelsea have made a formal bid for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa, activating the Spain international’s £32million release clause.

Indeed, boasting great power, height and a goal tally of 36 in 50 outings this season, the 25-year-old addresses the Blues’ well-documented need for an old fashioned centre-forward that can be depended upon to find the net. Having netted 71 times in the Premier League compared to Liverpool’s 101 goals and Manchester City’s 102, a lack of reliability in the final third has undoubtedly cost the West Londoners their shot at the English title this term.

But with Jose Mourinho often remarking that his Chelsea side are still in transition, it’s unlikely Diego Costa will be the Portuguese’s only signing this summer, so with that in mind, here’s a list of FIVE Blues targets who could soon follow the Brazilian-born forward to Stamford Bridge.
