It was revealed a few days ago that Antonio Conte would be starting work with Chelsea this week, with an unveiling press conference set for Thursday afternoon.

Many Chelsea fans had expected the new boss to lay low, and get on with business behind the scenes; but it seems that the Chelsea brass has insisted on a media unveiling in support of their new man.

These press conferences are often filled with new pieces of information and news scoops, as seen through both Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho’s press conferences in the last few weeks.

We expect nothing different this time, with Antonio Conte likely to give English fans an insight into what he has planned for the coming year.

Here are FIVE things we can expect to hear in Antonio Conte’s unveiling press conference...

It has been a heavily debated topic in recent weeks, and tomorrow it might just come to an end.

Following Jose Mourinho’s departure last season, he took along with him some of his most valued staff members, leaving Chelsea very short as Guus Hiddink took over.

Much like Mourinho, Conte has a group of highly valued coaches that he brings with him to every job, and they are expected to join up with him in London.

Chelsea fans are interested to see how this will effect some of the in house Chelsea staff; most notably Goalkeeping coach Christoph Lollichon and assistant coach Steve Holland.

A recent tweet from Chelsea legend Carlo Cudicini also implied that he would be part of the set up; leaving fans wondering where he would fit in.

Hopefully tomorrow this whole situation will become more clear.

Transfer Policy

kante

Another key piece of information we could hear about is with regards to Chelsea’s transfer policy in the coming month or two.

The side have been relatively quiet in recent weeks, so it remains to be seen whether the business is done for the summer or if Conte is just getting started.

With a host of linked targets, including the likes of N'Golo Kante, we may get an impression over who Conte might actually be targeting.

Don’t expect any signing revelations, a-la Jose Mourinho; but we should definitely gain an insight into whether there are any new signings on the immediate horizon

John Terry

John Terry

A very important one for many Chelsea fans.

Antonio Conte immediately endeared himself to many Blues fans when Terry was given a new contract, with many supposing that Conte had a lot to do with the deal.

Since then, however, rumours have been abound surrounding where the Blues skipper will stand under Conte. The most important of these being will he remain primary captain and will he still be a starter?

There has also been talk of a possible backroom role, which is particularly interesting given the unknown circumstances with regards to the Chelsea staff.

The new Blues boss will likely field a number of questions on the topic, and it will be interesting to hear his responses.

We don’t think anyone expects JT to remain a starter each week; but it would be wise for the incoming boss to state his intentions with the Chelsea hero.

Formation

Another topic of hot contention in recent weeks surrounds Chelsea’s formation next season.

A lot has been made of Conte’s obsession with using three at the back, as he has done in previous jobs, with Juan Cuadrado reportedly set to be retained to play in a wing back role.

Many will be expecting him to do the same in the Premier League, but it remains to be seen, especially given the fact that many experts believe the system will not work in England.

Chelsea have typically utilised a 4-2-3-1 in recent years, and it would a surprise to see Conte use anything else. He might let us know his plans in this regard tomorrow.

Expectations

This is probably the most obvious revelation; but expect Conte to reveal what his plans are for the next 12 months.

Certain managers have come in and explained how they see reaching the top four as equal value to winning a trophy, but Conte is certainly not of that mould.

A proven winner, Conte will not accept second best; so we expect him to come out and proclaim his intentions to win the title – much to the joy of the Chelsea faithful.

It will no doubt be an explosive and exciting 30 minutes; and we cant wait!
