It's time for the footballing world to weep a collective tear, as perhaps the greatest World Cup of all time  has come to a bitter-fought end. In case you've had your head stuck in a vase for the last 24 hours, Germany beat Argentina by a 1-0 scoreline in the final yesterday evening.

But we at Football FanCast are not prepared to relinquish the memories of Brazil 2014 just yet. Perhaps we are too needy, perhaps we are seeking closure, perhaps we simply can't accept reality, but resultantly, we've conjured up this list of the FIVE World Cup finalists Chelsea would love to - and realistically could - sign this summer.

So join in our reminiscence of an event that happened less than a full day ago whilst also discussing Jose Mourinho's summer transfer plans.

I believe that's known as synergy. Sort of. Not really. I miss the World Cup.

MARCOS ROJO

Chelsea are closing in on Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis, but one World Cup finalist also mooted as a potential replacement for Roma-bound Ashley Cole is Argentina's Marcos Rojo.

The 24 year-old is a classy and confident footballer, typified by this 'Rabona' clearance in his own penalty box against Bosnia in the World Cup's group stages...

In fact, his overall form at Brazil 2014 was incredibly impressive, as seen below:

This nutmeg on Arjen Robben isn't too bad either...

Measuring in at 6 foot 2 and capable of playing at centre-back or full-back, regardless of Chelsea's Filipe Luis pursuit, the Sporting Lisbon defender remains a useful addition to Jose Mourinho's squad.

But according to the Daily Express, Chelsea will have to stave off interest from Arsenal, Liverpool AND Manchester United for his signature.

EZEQUIEL LAVEZZI

Another Albiceleste star known to be on the Stamford Bridge radar is winger-forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Rumours of Chelsea's interest in the PSG attacker have persisted ever since the west Londoners took on the Parisians in last term's Champions League quarter-final, when Jose Mourinho admitted his adoration for the French Champions' forward, and Lavezzi went on to net this stunning strike in the opening leg:

Famed for his mixture of work-rate, pace and firepower, whilst also capable of playing on either wing or as an out-and-out striker, the former Napoli forward has a lot to offer the Chelsea attack.

Furthermore, the Metro believe he could be available for just £18million this summer.

Julian Draxler failed to feature for the Germany in the World Cup final, but the Schalke prodigy is considered to be one of the Bundesliga's brightest sparks and was strongly linked with a west London switch at the start of last season:
