Chelsea’s hopes of signing Paul Pogba have been dealt a massive blow, with the player’s agent having scrapped talk of a move to Stamford Bridge from Juventus.
The French international has been linked with a stunning £60m switch to the Blues in recent weeks, amid talk that Jose Mourinho is keen to make the one time Manchester United trainee a part of his new-look first XI.
Speculation of a move has been further fuelled by the emergence of pictures of the 21-year-old in London, which were accompanied by rumours that he told a fan he was close to switching to Chelsea.
His cousin swiftly played down such talk, and now Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has moved to further quash growing chat:
“Paul to Chelsea? It’s just fantasy football,” he told Tuttosport.
“Everything is perfect at Juventus and no meetings are planned.”
Pogba is thought to be seen as an ideal partner for Nemanja Matic by Mourinho.
The young enforcer started his career at United, but left on a free transfer in 2012 to join Juventus where he has blossomed with regular playing time.
