Inter Milan owner Erick Thohir was present during Chelsea‘s Champions League victory over Paris St Germain last night, with reports suggesting he was there to scout Fernando Torres ahead of a potential summer bid, according to talkSPORT.
Inter Milan have been heavily linked with a summer move for the £50m striker, but Thohir may not have learnt much from his scouting trip, as the 30-year-old Spaniard was only allowed just nine minutes to make an impact as a substitute last night.
Thohir has also targeted Blues midfielder John Obi Mikel, with the Nigerian deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge following the January arrival of Nemanja Matic.
Inter are one of a number of clubs understood to be interested in signing Torres in the summer, despite Jose Mourinho’s insistence last week that he had a future at Chelsea.
Mourinho has publicly criticised his strikers throughout the season, and has left Torres out of the side for big matches, most notably the first leg in Paris last week where he opted to start Andre Schurrle as a loan striker.
