Following Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United, Arsene Wenger called it the ‘usual’.

When the two London clubs met, a clash that finished 0-0, Jose Mourinho decided to talk about Arsenal's fans chanting about the boring football Chelsea were playing.

He believes you cannot call Chelsea’s style of play boring. What is boring, in his eyes, is “ten years without a title”. Is there some truth in Wenger’s throwaway comment and the reaction from his fans. Is Chelsea’s style boring? Can football be boring when the team is successful as a result?

Chelsea may be known for ‘parking the bus,’ but it is incredibly reductive and almost unfair to call them boring. Collectively they are a great side. Has Diego Costa been boring to watch this season? Or Cesc Fabregas, or Cesar Azpilicueta? No. All of their wins may not have been ‘beautiful’, but they are winners no less.

Arsenal have not been the most exciting teams of late. They have scraped by on fourth place for years. Their FA Cup final game against Hull City was exciting because of the comeback they made. But they are not the biggest pull of the Premier League, and haven't been for a long time now.

When they attempt to retain their FA Cup title, they will be facing another ‘boring’ side in Aston Villa. No one was surprised when they found themselves occupying a relegation spot earlier this season. They have turned things around, mainly in the FA Cup, but with a massively insufferable manager. They are not an exciting side to watch whatsoever; Benteke is their biggest draw because you can bet on him scoring when they need it the most.

It is a bit rich for Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal faithful to make such a judgement on a side who are rightfully going to lift the Premier League title.

Jose Mourinho has put together a formidable side that is brimming with talent. Arsene Wenger’s team isn’t bad, it’s just not on Jose’s level. What other side in the Premier League deserves to win it?

Following his comments, you would have expected goals galore in their clash with Chelsea. But he didn’t deliver - a bit boring, no?
