Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata believes that his fellow Spain international Diego Costa will be a success at Chelsea.

Reports in the past few days have indicated that the Brazilian-born La Roja star is on the verge of joining the Blues in a £32m deal after passing a medical with the London club.

Costa has been Jose Mourinho’s top target for some time, with securing a top class goal-getter ‘The Special One’s’ major aim for the coming months.

The burly forward plundered an impressive 27 goals to help Atleti to a shock La Liga victory last term, and was also in razor-sharp form as the Rojiblancos reached the Champions League Final – a game he limped out of early on through injury.

Mata is set to line up alongside Costa for Spain at the World Cup, and he believes that he international team-mate will be a success at Chelsea – his former club:
