The Telegraph.

The Parisians launched a late summer move for the Spaniard after it emerged he was not one of Jose Mourinho’s preferred options.

However, the Blues resisted PSG advances and kept the 25-year-old, who has since played his way back into the first-team.

But, this hasn’t deterred the French giants, who are ready to make a new move for Mata.

It is reportedly unlikely that Chelsea will be willing to let him leave, but if Mourinho steps up his pursuit of a new striker Roman Abramovich may sanction the sale.

Mata is a key part of PSG’s building plans, and a player they feel can further boost their chances of competing for the Champions League.

The midfielder himself may be tempted by a move if his status in the Chelsea first-team is unclear ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

Tottenham are also keen, but it is unlikely that the player will be sold to a domestic rival with interest from abroad strong.
