Uruguayan forward Cavani is reportedly keen on a switch from the French capital after growing tired of playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while Lavezzi is also open to a move to the Premier League.
Mourinho cited the pair as the type of ‘real strikers’ who could have an impact at Stamford Bridge, following their 3-1 defeat in Paris a fortnight ago.
Although Cavani in particular endured a night to forget in the second leg as Chelsea staged a comeback to earn a Champions League semi final place, Mourinho remains interested in both players.
A potential stumbling block may be the fact Cavani is likely to demand a transfer fee in the region of £60million, whilst also demanding a bumper salary of £6million per season.
Mourinho however earlier revealed the club could afford ‘one’ striker in that price bracket.
Argentine Lavezzi would be a cheaper alternative at £25million, with wages of £80,000 a week.
The 28-year-old would also be more willing to play out wide than Cavani.
Chelsea are unlikely to move for both players, with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa and Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic other transfer targets.
