Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge tomorrow night as they look to continue their unbeaten start to the season under new boss Antonio Conte.

The Blue's have picked up 10 points from a possible 12 so far this season, with three consecutive wins against West Ham, Watford and Burnley were followed by a disappointing 2-2 draw at Swansea last weekend.

Diego Costa had given Chelsea the lead, but two quick-fire goals in the form of a penalty from Gylfi Sigurdsson and a controversial finish from in-form Leroy Fer gave the homer side an unexpected lead.

Man of the moment Costa rescued a point when he finished acrobatically from close range in the 81st minute.

While the result wasn't the worst, it will certainly give manager Antonio Conte food for thought ahead of tomorrow's big game against Liverpool - a game which is set to be his most challenging as Chelsea boss thus far.

The Italian will be pleased with the majority of his squad's performance this season, but there are a few who are in danger of being dropped, including these three...

Nemanja Matic

matic

Matic has continued this season in a similar vein of form in which he ended last season, that being below average. While he is certainly not playing poorly, the Serbian has contributed little and next to new man N'Golo Kante his role in the centre of midfield has begin to look semi-redundant. With Chelsea having signed David Luiz

With Chelsea having signed David Luiz this summer, it could be that Matic makes way for Luiz in the middle of the park - a position many Chelsea fans would prefer to see the Brazilian playing rather than at centre-half.

Branislav Ivanovic

Branislav Ivanovic

Poor old Branislav Ivanovic just looks as if he has run out of steam this season. The Serbian international has been a huge player for the Blues over the past decade or so and been a fantastic right back during his tenure at the club. However, at 32 now Ivanovic looks like he no longer has it in him to get back and forward the way he once did. Still a brilliant player but it could be that he is forced into taking a more bit-part role ahead of one of the youngsters this season.

Cesc Fabregas

Southampton v Chelsea - Barclays Premier League

Ok, so the Spaniard already has been dropped by Conte. Quite why, though, is beyond me, as Fabregas has been instrumental in the short playing time he was been given so far this season.

He adds much-needed creativity to the centre of the park - something Chelsea lack without him in the side - and his link up with fellow countryman Diego Costa is excellent. The former Arsenal man compliments the style of N'Golo Kante better and the Blues look an altogether more balanced side with Fabregas in the team.
