Unless you have been living with your head in the sand for the last 10 months, you will be fully aware of the man who has garnered the most unlikely of praise from every corner of the footballing world.

When N’Golo Kante moved to Leicester in the summer of 2015, the man himself couldn’t even have dreamt of becoming a Premier League winner, a key man in the French national team and one of the most desired players in European football, all in the space of 10 months.

Many rumours have suggested that Chelsea are leading the race to sign the man who has impressed every football fan over the last year.

However, would a transfer to Stamford Bridge be a wise idea for Kante?

We look at the Pros and Cons of such a move...

PRO - Stability

N'Golo Kante

The very first thing that Antonio Conte will want to address when arriving at Stamford Bridge next month will be the obvious deficiencies in the Chelsea squad.

Since Ramires left Stamford Bridge for China, the centre of midfield at Chelsea has looked short on box-to-box quality.

While Cesc Fabregas is capable of incredible moments and Nemanja Matic can be an impenetrable defensive force, N’Golo Kante would offer an energetic option that can be utilised in offensive and defensive situations accordingly.

PRO - Form

N'Golo Kante

Excluding Dimitri Payet, there is perhaps no midfielder in Europe more in form than N’Golo Kante at the moment.

This form often comes in bursts and Chelsea would be wise to capitalise on these incredible performances from the Frenchman as soon as possible; firstly to avoid competition from other European elites but also to claim the midfielder while he is still in a rich vein of form.

If Kante were to replicate his performances for Leicester and France in a Chelsea shirt, expect to see further praised heaped on the 25-year-old.

CON - Experience and Expectation

kante

One of the most pivotal questions that may be asked of N’Golo Kante if he were to join Chelsea, would be whether he could perform as well when pressure and expectancy is heaped upon his shoulders.

At Leicester, Kante could play with little expectation, safe in the knowledge that he and the team had performed well above expectations. Could he deal with the scrutiny at Stamford Bridge?

Fortunately for Chelsea fans, Kante may have already answered this question. The midfielder has been excellent for France at Euro 2016 thus far, even with an expectant fan base willing their side forward.

CON - One Season Wonder?

Leicester City v Norwich City - Barclays Premier League

Many media outlets have been quick to heap praise on the recruitment staff at Leicester for finding a player of the quality of N’Golo Kante from relative obscurity.

However, questions have to be asked as to why the 25-year-old was not sought after by the elites of European football.

Could his performances at Leicester be a product of the style of play at the King Power? After all, Danny Drinkwater turned Premier League also-ran to fully fledge international in the space of eight months.
