Brighton and Hove Albion manager Gustavo Poyet confessed feeling seduced about taking over Stamford Bridge's bench, and enjoys the speculation around him succeeding Rafa Benitez at the Premier League club.

The Uruguayan is rated as 7/1 to manage the Blues next season and, despite admiting his liking for the club that saw him play between 1997-2001, he is completely focused on his role at the Amex Community Stadium, the Mirror reports.

“I want to go to the highest level. That’s my aim as everybody knows”, he stated. “If that is the Premier League and Chelsea, fantastic. If it is somebody else, we’ll see”.

“I like the speculation because it means we are doing something right, but it doesn’t change my life at the moment”, the Albion boss added.

Even though the Stamford Bridge job sounds attractive, the 2010-2011 League One Manager of the Year and confessed Chelsea supporter dissociated himself from the fans that adopt an attitude against Benitez.

“I always want Chelsea to win and I’m pleased to see them in the next round of the FA Cup. I’m not making banners and going to the stadium to go against the manager because I would want the manager to get the support”.

“What is between the manager and the club is not my problem. It’s nothing to do with me”, Poyet concluded.
