Hull City have had a bid accepted by Everton for striker Nikica Jelavic, as reported by ITV Sport.

The Tigers are looking bolster their strikeforce and it appears the Croatian international is on the verge of a deal to the KC Stadium after becoming second choice at Goodison Park under Roberto Martinez.

The loan additions of Romelu Lukaku and Gerard Deulofeu have hampered first team opportunities on Merseyside and now a deal of around £6million has been agreed.

As if Hull weren’t ambitious enough with Jelavic, they have also approached West Brom over the availability of striker Shane Long in an attempt to form a deadly partnership on Humberside.

Hull were close to agreeing a deal to bring Long in on transfer deadline day in the summer but West Brom would not allow the deal to go ahead after missing out on their own targets.

City are now prepared to back boss Steve Bruce after a superb first half of the season that has seen Hull push their way towards the top half of the season.
