Everton defender Sylvain Distin has celebrated the skills of manager David Moyes.

The Toffees have enjoyed a fine start to the Premier League season, and are still in contention for a Champions League spot with only 12 games remaining.

They have also been impressive in the FA Cup, where only replay at home to League One side Oldham separates them from a quarter-final tie with Wigan.

Distin, who has played for Manchester City and Portsmouth during his time in England believes that Moyes has done a fantastic job at Goodison Park, especially with the clubs limited spending power:

"When you see what he can achieve with the means he has, that is simply amazing." He is quoted by Sky Sports via France Football.

Despite his standing at Everton, Moyes is said to be considering his future, with a summer exit a genuine possibility.

He has been suggested as a possible long-term successor to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, whilst some reports claim he may leave England altogether to manage in Europe.

Away from Everton, Distin also praised the abilities of former coach Harry Redknapp, who is currently in charge of QPR:

"Wherever he has coached Redknapp has always had success which is not by chance,

"On a tactical level he may not be a genius, but on a human management level he is capable of making you believe that you are the best player in the world.

"His words reassure and release you which makes you want to fight for that man.”
