Everton are plotting a summer move for Aston Villa winger Marc Albrighton, according to reports from the Birmingham Mail.

The 24-year-old wide-man is a player who has long been talked about as one of English football’s top prospects, and has recently been showing his potential in the Villains’ first-team.

This has alerted Roberto Martinez, who is keen to lure him away from the Midlands when his contract expires in a few months’ time.

The Spaniard is thought to be a big fan of the 24-year-old, and is ready to offer him a fresh start on Merseyside after a difficult few years.

Villa are understood to have spoken to the wide-man about a new deal, but the player himself is keen to keep his options open and assess his future when the season ends.

Albrighton has been one of the club’s better performers in recent weeks, with his role in the first-team having been made more important by the absence of Christian Benteke.

A move to Everton could appeal to him, with the Goodison Park side having already secured European football for next season.
