Everton are closing in on Anderlecht’s youth sensation David Henen, according to reports in Belgium.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in European football and has previously attracted interest from Arsenal, Porto and Manchester United.
But the Toffees appear to have won the race to bring the Belgian striker to the Premier League, with a €1.5million deal close to being completed.
Henen, who has been compared to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, has represented Belgium at all levels from Under-15 to Under-18 and shares the same agent as fellow Belgian Kevin Mirallas.
And he could be swiftly followed by compatriot Romelu Lukaku, who is reportedly close to signing a permanent Goodison Park deal after such a successful loan spell last season that saw him net 15 goals in 31 Premier League outings.
Roberto Martinez has only managed to bring in Gareth Barry on a permanent deal this summer, but is in the market for reinforcements that will complement his aims of a top four finish next season.
