The Toffees have made an impressive start to the season, but manager Roberto Martinez is keen to bolster his attacking options in the coming weeks in a bid to further their hopes of breaking into the top four.
With Nikica Jelavic nearing the Goodison Park exit door – Hull have been linked with the Croatian – the ex-Wigan chief is ready to up his interest in Batshuayi.
The Belgian youngster is also wanted by Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund after impressing the European giants with his displays in his homeland.
However, Martinez is prepared to meet the 20-year-old’s £7m buyout clause to push through a deal before the end of the month.
Batshuayi’s agent, Christophe Henrothay, says that it will take such a sum to secure his client:
“The situation is simple. If a club triggers his release clause, he can sit down and start negotiating with them.”
Everton have Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season, but the burly starlet is set to return to Stamford Bridge in six months’ time, which could leave Martinez short of attacking options next season.
